June 2026 Tax Reform: New Brackets for High Earners
A major overhaul of the income tax system introduces a new top bracket for incomes above SEK 900,000, simplified VAT reporting for small businesses (turnover under SEK 3M), and an updated jobbskatteavdrag (employment tax credit) formula.
VAT Registration Threshold Raised to SEK 80,000
The mandatory VAT (moms) registration threshold for sole traders increased from SEK 30,000 to SEK 80,000 annual turnover. Businesses below the threshold can voluntarily register.
ISK (Investment Savings Account) Tax Rate Updated
The schablonintäkt for ISK accounts is now calculated as the government borrowing rate plus 1.0 percentage point (previously 1.0%). With the current rate, the effective ISK tax rate is approximately 1.09%.
